A brand new study, one of the first of it's kind in Ireland is currently being conducted by Trinity College Dublin's Institute of Neuroscience which intends on looking at the psychological processes that take place in addiction.
Their study "aims to evaluate basic psychological processes known to be 'disrupted' in dependent smokers and involved in relapse such as inhibitory control and reward processing.". They intend on comparing several groups, namely; regular smokers, non-smokers, ex-smokers who do not vape, and vapers. They are using a widely used computer-based system which carries out cognitive tasks to produce the relevant data and comparing the results between the aforementioned groups.
The study still actively requires vapers and established smokers to complete the study, so if you're interested in being a part of the study and contributing to a landmark study in vaping to come out of ireland, then you can check for eligibility criteria on https://goo.gl/B1knSj or email TCD.Smoking.Studies@gmail.com.
We will be sure to post on the blog when the results of the study are finally released!
